Concealer matches your skin to hide a spot or even things out. A color corrector uses the opposite color on the wheel, like peach for blue-gray circles or green for redness, to cancel a tone out before concealer goes on.
A matte, long-wear liquid formula resists both shine and creasing better than a dewy one, especially under the eyes where oil and movement cause the most breakdown. Set it lightly with powder only where it needs to stay put.
For a light, natural makeup look, spot-concealing blemishes and under-eyes can be enough. It will not replicate what a foundation does across your whole face, so for full, even coverage you will still want a base underneath.
Use less than you think you need and pat rather than rub it in, since rubbing pushes product into creases. A hydrating formula and a light setting powder pressed on with a damp sponge both help it sit on top of lines instead of inside them.
